Forage (forage.ink) is a self-hosted, invite-only personal intelligence platform. Your privacy is fundamental to our design.

What We Collect

• Account information: email address, username, and display name provided during registration.
• Phone number: only if you opt in to SMS notifications in your settings.
• Content preferences: keywords, source subscriptions, and feed settings you configure.
• Content you create: blog posts, messages, and comments.
• Usage data: session activity timestamps for notification delivery (e.g., determining if you are away).

How We Use Your Data

• To operate your personal feed, content filtering, and AI summarization features.
• To send SMS notifications when you receive messages while away (opt-in only).
• To deliver email notifications for invites, digests, and message replies.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
• We do not track you across other websites.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate the platform:

• Twilio for SMS delivery (your phone number is shared with Twilio only for message delivery).
• SendGrid for email delivery.
• Google OAuth for authentication (we receive your email and name only).

Data Retention

Your data is stored on our servers for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting an administrator.

SMS Communications

SMS notifications are strictly opt-in. You can enable or disable them in your account settings at any time. Message frequency depends on incoming messages from other users. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for support.
